Cotton & Alpaca

Why buy Baby Alpaca?

Baby alpaca fiber takes care of you and the environment. It looks and feels great on your skin, too.

Baby alpaca fiber is one of the finest and most luxurious natural fibers in the world.
It’s also hypoallergenic, which means is unlikely to cause an allergic reaction in people whose skin is sensitive or tends to get irritated, including babies and young children.  It also has the function of cooling the wearer when it is hot out and warming the wearer when it is cold, permitting the wearer to withstand severe temperature differences—even between morning and night. It is amazing how even the lightest alpaca piece can provide you such extraordinary comfort. You don’t need big or heavy clothing to feel warm and protected from the cold.

Also, baby alpaca fiber has a natural deodorant effect, meaning you can use it for a long time between washing. The care of a baby alpaca piece is not complicated, either. Just take care of your baby alpaca garment as you do with your hair: wash it gently with soft shampoo, remove the excess of water with a towel, and dry flat in the shade.

Baby alpaca comes from adult alpaca animals (not from baby animals) and actually received its name “baby alpaca” for its softness, delicacy and shine. If the alpaca is not sheared regularly, its health may be affected.

Why use organic cotton?

The main reason is: you choose health! Babies absorb things 30% tinner at a much higher rate than adults because the top layer of a baby’s skin is 30% thinner than an adult’s. This causes them to absorb chemicals and ingredients much more effectively than we do and means children are in more risk for pesticides-related health problems than adults. Organic clothing uses cotton that is farmed without chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. Since organic cotton producers don’t use the tools that conventional farmers use, it takes twice as much work to grow organic cotton than conventional cotton.

Your health, however, is worth it!

Organic cotton for your babies and children reduces their exposure to toxins. Just think of how much important that is.

Despite the benefits, worldwide organic cotton production has declined, mainly because the premiums to pay the organic producers are falling. Almost all organic production around the world is sponsored by brands and retailers as part of their corporate social responsibility efforts, or by governments wanting to encourage sustainable production practices and economic development. As of 2018, however, there still are not enough brands and retailers to increase the organic cotton production to meet demand.
